Unsubscribe, Optout and Beacon tags

Pepo Campaigns System Variables/Tags

In this article we talk about on how to use some specific system variables for HTML content. Some of these variable are inbuilt in the template builder and in the design by code section :

Unsubscribe Tag

{{optout_confirm_url}}

Any email you send must include an unsubscribe link for your recipients incase they no longer wish to receive this type of mail from you. This is a mandatory variable for all the emails.

For HTML content using the code editor, add this tag to the href attribute of your unsubscribe link:

<body>
<a href={{optout_confirm_url}}>Unsubscribe</a>
</body>
</html>

Beacon Tag

{{beacon}}

This tag enables email open tracking for statistics and analytics for your campaigns, transactionals and automation. This is a mandatory tag for all the emails.

When designing by code add as shown in your HTML code:

<body>
<a href={{optout_confirm_url}}>Unsubscribe</a>
<span>{{beacon}}</span>
</body>
</html>

View in Browser Tag

{{browser_view}}

This tag adds a link in the email for viewing the email in browser. This is an optional tag in the email.

You can enable this option in the template builder from the template settings section in the builder.

When designing by code you can add this tag to your HTML code to enable viewing of email in browser like below:

<body>
<a href={{browser_view}}>View in Browser</a>
<a href={{optout_confirm_url}}>Unsubscribe</a>
<span>{{beacon}}</span>
</body>
</html>
